Old service not loading

I updated the version from 2.3.2 to the new 10.1.2 and the map service is not loading properly. Its taking 20 minutes to load what loaded in less 30 seconds previously. We have our own ArcGIS for server and publish our own maps and use it via ArcGIS ipad app.
I cant roll back to the old version and are left with no way of using the service.. Help!
